Since 1998 I have tried using hot water extraction and dry solvent cleaning on sensitive fabrics and I have found low moisture cleaning with plant based encapsulation cleaners works better. Fabrics can be cleaned and dried quickly which allows the cleaning of all fibers even very sensitive chenille - viscose-haitian cotton-silk.
Since 2011 I have been using low moisture cleaning with micro fiber pads to remove soil and have cleaned 100's of pieces of furniture with great results.
Using the right cleaning agents, Microfiber cloths can have better results than using a vacuum to remove stains and soils on upholstery We can not always remove every stain but most spills can be improved Greatly without use of dry cleaning solvents. Most furniture MFG's put dry clean only labels on sensitive cotton -viscose-silk fabrics but using solvent cleaning products does not remove water marks or drink stains. Using a low moisture approach with plant based products we have had very good results on sensitive fabrics.
Could not remove stains using a vacuum system and had to use microfiber cloths on stains in the next video
